This page is designed for students who are currently attending the University of Iowa.  You will find information and links to pages within the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) website to assist you in the financial aid process.

As a returning undergraduate, you may have different needs from prospective and incoming undergraduates.  Our mission remains the same; to assist students whose personal and family resources are not adequate to cover the costs involved in attending the University of Iowa.

To be considered for federal, state, and need-based institutional aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.  Some financial aid funds are limited, so it is important to file your 2018-2019 FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1, 2017.   The filing deadline for priority consideration is November 15, 2017.  When completing the FAFSA, we recommend that you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your tax information directly from the IRS onto your FAFSA.

If you applied for financial aid in the previous year, the Office of Financial Aid will send you a reminder email to apply for aid in the coming year.  Remember, you must complete a new FAFSA for each academic year that you wish to receive aid.
