Student employment on the University of Iowa campus and select off-campus Work-Study sites is limited to regularly enrolled University of Iowa students. Students enrolled at other schools (i.e. Kirkwood Community College) are not eligible for student employment at the University of Iowa during the academic year.
During the summer, students are eligible to be employed at the University under the student employment program regardless of their UI student status (i.e., students attending schools other than the UI, high school students, etc.). However, students enrolled at other schools must be appointed using the Professional and Scientific appointment option.
Listed below are the various on-campus employment programs in which UI students may participate.
- Part-time Hourly University
- Teaching and Research Assistantships, Fellowships and Traineeships (Students should contact the Graduate College or their individual department directly.)
Students are also employed off campus in the community. These job opportunities can be found on Jobnet, the local newspapers (The Press Citizen and The Daily Iowan), and in flyers in downtown shop windows.
