The University of Iowa Office of Student Financial Aid (UI OSFA) establishes a standard estimated cost of attendance which is used to determine a student's financial need. The estimated cost of attendance figures reflect modest but adequate expenses and are based on research conducted by the UI OSFA. While actual expenses of individual students will vary, the estimated cost should assist students in planning their budget.

View our Understanding Your Cost of Attendance web page for an explanation on the components used to determine the estimated cost of attendance and what costs will and will not be billed to the student on a U-Bill.

Incoming freshmen may use Net Price Calculator to obtain an estimate of their cost of attendance and financial aid for which they may qualify.
